My Lovely Customers...

When you sell an item, it’s all very exciting – receiving that email or call from your customer stating that they are interested in your item.  As I do not have a shop at present and am 32 weeks pregnant this is not the right time to start to set up shop (which I would dearly love), so with most of my items they are sold through eBay or Gumtree.  Even though this is a wonderful way to sell my items, my customers totally rely on my photographs (which are taken in the best possible light) I always think about how my customers will react to actually seeing the items in the flesh.

Recently, I had two deliveries to make over in North London, one was in Hertfordshire the other in the gorgeous little quant town of St. Albans.  Item one was the beautiful Original French Armoire which was sourced from Normandy and was made as one piece, the only part that comes off is the actual crest at the very top, the rest is as one solid piece so you can imagine the weight of this item.  Thankfully I have a very strong husband on hand to help me with the moving part. Sad to see her go, she was wrapped in layers of bubble wrap and placed carefully in the van.

Then our second item to be shipped off was a delightful pine farmhouse table with white washed wicker chairs and matching seat covers.  So with the van packed Thursday night, we set off early Friday morning from Bournemouth to London...Once we arrived at our first destination we were greeted by a lovely couple Antonella and her husband who was thankfully able to help get the Armoire off the van and safely into their beautiful home.  I must say that once it was stood up it looked very much at home.

Pictures to come soon...

Back on the road once again early Saturday we made our way to St. Albans where we meet the lovely Katie who loved the table and chairs and has kindly sent us pictures of the table and chairs in her new country kitchen...I think it suits your kitchen Katie!!

As I mentioned, I’m 32 weeks pregnant so unfortunately I now have had to take a break from furniture restoration, so it was nice to end with such lovely customers...I will continue after a few months but for now I will continue to source French items on a much smaller scale and deal with my Vintage linens and small interior items...

Thanks for reading my blog and enjoy your weekend!

Beautiful Original Armoire Dispaly Wardrobe

This has been my favourite resoration project to date...when we found this poor Armoire it was in a sorry old state - after some time spent on her she is now fully restored, I just need to find her a loving home now...

~ Original Antique French Armoire Wardrobe 1890.C ~

£950.00  SOLD

Local pick-up or we can arrange delivery within a 10 mile radius of the Blandford area in Dorset FREE of charge.

This is a prime example of an (original) French Armoire wardrobe dating from the 1890’s which was left standing in an old chateau in Normandy. It has been lovingly restored and painted in Fired Earth eggshell – Chalk White no.61.

This Armoire has so many stunning design features... with all Armoire’s the top is always the most impressive with its arched facet and classic emblem. This part can be lifted off and placed back into the wooden dowels.

It has the most divine detailing to the woodwork and has two columns leading to a beautiful leaf scroll design.

The lock on the door was removed; however we have sourced a delightful original Armoire bronze pull handle. This drop pull handle is ornately cast and contains a miniature picture of three ladies, possibly oil on ceramic.

It has four shelves and comes with a lovely bottom drawer along with a beautiful glass handle.

The glass to the front is bevelled – sources tell me this is worth more than the Armoire itself. It is a beautifully cut piece of glass which will show off your vintage eiderdowns or anything that is precious.

This is an antique item so please bare this in mind. It is a very heavy solid item and very tall so please check your room height as well.

Measurements: Width 42” - Depth 20” – Height 93 ½ ”

Well, i'm all blogged out for now...Merci for visiting the BV blog - have a lovely evening!
